What I Do Matters – A social-spirited butterfly
What I Do Matters – A social-spirited butterfly Born and raised in Kwazulu-Natal, this social-spirited butterfly cherishes every part of South Africa, from flowers and trees to the majestic mountains seen on road trips. “You took your time, went to the shop, picked this item for me, had me in mind, then came and gave it to me.” Meet Isabel, someone who embodies the spirit of Ubuntu and treasures giving, a value that aligns with Signa Group.
“I get to assess social media trends and analytics, conduct research, provide teambuilding event planning assistance, create engaging articles on our employee portal, and write impactful Power of One stories. These stories inspire others to follow their dream no matter their circumstances. Through my creative ideas, I get to feature our member entities, clients, and sponsors and write about what they are doing in the community and the impact they have on the youth.”
Signa’s focus on youth development and the growth of Africa inspires Isabel. “The content I create empowers and uplifts the youth and affects the greater good of our country.” Being part of Signa’s vision and mission gives meaning to my work in the marketing team.”
Isabel’s role at Signa has profoundly influenced her personal growth. “Working here has taught me so much about responsibility, project management, accountability, and time management. These skills have become a part of my daily life, making me more efficient and effective in everything I do.”
Outside of work, Isabel has an interest in athletics. “Ever since I was a child, I have always enjoyed running, especially short-distance running.” Isabel would love to expand her interest in athletics. It would be a dream come true for her to progress as a marathon runner one day.
Isabel’s story reflects the essence of giving, learning, and finding strength in challenges…. A pivotal experience shaped Isabel’s outlook on life. At a resort, she bravely went on a slide even though she was not a strong swimmer. She ended up underwater and learned that life can overwhelm you, but you have to get your head out and find a solution. “This taught me the importance of staying calm and thinking clearly in tough situations.”
