About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Direct Sales Representative to join our dynamic team.  You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for business growth through sales, pitching a variety of Signa solutions to prospective clients and closing sales deals.  You will be required to proactively develop and establish new corporate business relationships and maintain key relationships with existing and new clients to follow up on leads and convert them into sales. You will be required to understand and sell all Signa Group Solutions, with a specific focus on Skills development Solutions. 

Requirements

  •  An undergraduate diploma or degree in Business Management, Sales, Communication or similar

  •  2+ years proven experience in direct sales (consultative selling) within the B2B sector, preferably selling BBBEE solutions and/or an aptitude and personality to be able to excel in sales • Proficiency in CRM tools (E.g. Salesforce) for managing leads and sales pipelines

  •  In-depth knowledge of B-BBEE legislation including the B-BBEE Act and Codes of Good Practice), as well as a general understanding of the B-BBEE Scorecards.

Competencies & Skills

  •  Excellent administrative, negotiation and communication skills (both written and verbal) in English. 

  •  Ability to work independently, manage time effectively. 

  •  Commercial awareness – understanding business financials and procurement policies. 

  •  Must be comfortable with presenting to senior stakeholders, clients and executives. 

  •  An ability to handle objections professionally and educate clients on proposed solutions.  

  • Goal-oriented, energetic, proactively with a proven track-record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. 

  •   Resilience and an adaptability in a fast-past environment. 

  • A valid driver’s license, a car for exclusive use and a willingness for occasional travel within Johannesburg to visit clients

Duties & Responsibilities 

  •  Identify, research, and engage potential customers through cold calling, networking and referral follow up.

  •   Stay informed with industry trends, competitor activities and product knowledge.

  •   Segment leads and design appropriate strategies per segment.

  •  Present, promote and sell services using persuasive sales techniques. 

  •  Design appropriate pitches for specific products for relevant channels or market segments, ensuring that the presentations and proposals inputs are well-researched and informed.

  • Understand customer needs and through an in depth understanding of products be able to streamline the client’s needs to the operational delivery requirements of companies. 

  •  Ensure growth of new client base and profitable proposals. 

  •  Manage an effective lead and sales pipeline and work together with a team, supporting each other’s sales efforts, reporting to the Strategic Relationships Manager.   

  •  Ensure that the pipeline reflects the optimal product mix at appropriate revenue ranges at approved pricing strategies

  •  Achieve specific sales results and targets. 

  •  Know and understand the operational requirements of Solutions sold and ensure that all operational considerations have been agreed to by the delivering Signa entity before a sale is concluded. 

  •  Work closely with the Signa Academy CEO and exec team to promote and optimise the Signa Academy sales opportunities.   

  • Provide an extraordinary service to your client through effective, timeous and responsive communication, associated monitoring and engagement tools and tactics. 

  • Ensure that closing win-loss rations are recorded and analysed to inform improved strategies. 

  • Working closely with other departments, seeking opportunities to cross-sell. 

  •  Updating CRM daily, weekly and monthly, providing reporting as required by management on sales and pipeline figures, and ensure that all your administrative duties are up-to-date.

  • Foster relationships with colleagues, business partners, potential clients and business contacts to attract business thereby enhancing the organisation's reputation.  Act as “brand ambassador” that represents the organisation’s brand and values, ethics and ethos. 

  •  Ensure familiarity with the relevant legislation inclusive but not limited to B-BBEE, Tax, Skills legislation and the various sector codes while maintaining a solid understanding of the SETA and QCTO landscape.   

  •  Updating CRM daily, weekly and monthly, providing reporting as required by management on sales and pipeline figures, and ensure that all your administrative duties are up-to-date.
